“Why we give”… Encouragement from a Donor

An encouraging letter from a family who gives monthly …

“We love Champions of Hope. I can even say, that of all the ministries advanced at our church, Champions of Hope is the dearest to our heart…

I grew up with a step-father, but a step-father whom was completely detached from my life. Even though he was there bodily, he wasn’t ever there for me in the most crucial aspects of my life. I personally know how these young people feel, desperately needing and wanting the love and guidance of someone whom cares. To see how you pair loving adults, with these children is such an encouragement to me.

I sometimes look back on my childhood and say “what if I had a dad whom cared about what I loved” but then I remember I have a Father whom has always loved me. A Father whom has called, and justified me. A Father whom has cared for me, and I can look back on my life and see His providential care for me. Though it was a great struggle, walking through that as a child, it has seemed to give me a sharper understanding of the amazing gift of the Fatherhood of God. It really moves me to hear about the electing, peculiar, faithful love God has for His children.

All of that to say, we as a family love Champions of Hope. We want to give even more…our gift seems so small, in comparison to the work. So, we are thankful for what you are doing in South Dallas, because what you are doing has eternal ramifications. – 1 Corinthians 15:58 “Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.” “
