Encouragement from mentor coordinator Jill Jackson,
“Whether in a refugee camp, the projects, or in our neighborhoods, it’s about relationship. It’s about opening our eyes to see the hurt of our cities, our neighbors, our fellow human beings. Christ not only called us to feed the hungry and clothe the poor, but to make disciples. Discipleship happens through time, tears, and investing our lives in others. We are to be imitators of Christ who came and lived among us, gave his life for us, and adopted us as His very own. It’s about love.
“This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one that this, that someone lays down his life for his friends.”
