About Us

Our Ministry…

Champions of Hope is a ministry seeking the transformation of individuals and a community through the Gospel of Jesus Christ by Gospel-driven relationships. We work to see one area of our city, South Dallas, filled with hope and healing through Christ-centered relationships that start with mentoring, lead to discipleship, and eventually produce leaders of Godly character.

Through Relationships…

While there are many ways to bring more hope into a community, we believe Christ-centered relationships are going to make the greatest impact. At our core, we are all relational beings created to thrive and grow while in relationships with others.

Jesus practiced the mentoring model with his disciples and they, in turn, replicated it. The apostle Paul took to heart the call to invest himself in others as evidenced particularly through his relationship with Timothy. Here is Paul’s mentoring plan for the church in Thessalonica:

But we were gentle among you, like a mother caring for her little children. We loved you so much that we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well, because you had become so dear to us. For you know that we dealt with each of you as a father deals with his own children, encouraging, comforting and urging you to live lives worthy of God, who calls you into his kingdom and glory. (I Thes. 2:7-8, 11-12)

One Child at a Time…

We are impacting the lives of the future leaders of South Dallas with positive, Christian role models who commits to mentor and disciple them. Mentors are encouragers, advocates, advisers, and friends. Mentors build relationships with a child and their family to see God glorified and lives changed through the love of Christ.

Christ-centered relationships are the key to lasting change in the lives of these children and long-term community transformation in South Dallas.
