5 S’s- Service- 11th Grade

Service should be less event-based and more interwoven into your proteges life. Help them to see that, if they are looking, service opportunities are all around. Remind your protege about their motivation for serving others and the sacrificial service of Jesus. Take time to explain what service as a lifestyle looks like in your own life. Be sure to model serving in front of your protege by being an example of what it looks like to serve your family. Even look for ways to intentionally serve your protege!

–Challenge your protege to point out areas in their family and neighborhood that are consistent service opportunities

–Brainstorm ways to serve their school or teachers and help them execute it

–Consider serving at a homeless shelter or a nursing home on a monthly basis and making it a consistent mentor-protege hangout
